How You Can Help the 40% More Campaign

There are many ways you can help the 40% More Campaign succeed. We have until September to show Mayor Fuller that we fully support having the first Newton Power Choice standard contract include 40% more renewable energy  than the State mandate.

Here is how you can take this campaign to your friends and neighbors now:

Volunteer for a Canvassing Day (ongoing)

Volunteers will be fanning out across Newton to gather signatures for the "40% More" Letter of Support.

What you'll do: As a volunteer, you'll be assigned a high traffic spot in your neighborhood to ask for signatures. Training will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 that morning, following which you will be assigned a location for your 2 hour shift

Ask Your Friends and Neighbors to Sign the Letter of Support

Multiply your impact by getting your friends and neighbors to sign the "40% More" Letter of Support

Collect Signatures: You can gather signatures for the Letter of Support anywhere using the paper sign up sheet.

Email your friends and neighbors to ask them to sign: Emailing your friends and neighbors is a fast, easy way to gather signatures for the Letter of Support

Volunteer at a Community Event

Throughout the summer, NCCA will need volunteers to represent the Coalition and the "40% More" at numerous events.

What you'll do: Opportunities range from staffing a table at the Farmers Market or local Village Day events to presenting the case for "40% More" at community meetings and house parties.

Join the pool of volunteers and we'll email you as volunteer opportunities arise. Check out the current slate of events on our calendar.

Host a House Party

House parties are a great way to spread the word about the 40% More Campaign to your friends and neighbors.

What you'll do: As a host, you'll invite your friends and neighbors to a 1 1/2 hour meeting at your house to learn about Newton Power Choice and the 40% More Campaign. We're scheduling parties for July - August. Typical parties are 8 to 12 guests but can be more or less.

What we'll do: NCCA will assign a volunteer to help you plan and run your house party. The volunteer can lead the discussion or can help train you to lead the discussion yourself, while being on hand at the party to answer questions and provide support.
